Empower & Protect

Join us on October 5th, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at ALLEN for “Empower & Protect,” a crucial workshop designed to equip parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools to safeguard their children from sexual abuse. You’ll learn how to create a safe environment and communicate effectively with your kids about their boundaries through practical strategies, expert insights, and interactive discussions. Empower yourself with the confidence and skills to be your child’s strongest advocate and protector.

Kris Buckman serves as the Youth & Kids Missionary for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) and is a key member of their Sexual Abuse Task Force. She has played a pivotal role in developing standards and systems to protect vulnerable populations within churches. Additionally, Kris contributed to the Southern Baptist Convention’s National Abuse Reform Implementation Task Force (ARITF), where she was instrumental in creating the “Essentials: Sexual Abuse Prevention & Response” curriculum, designed for nationwide church use. Her commitment extends beyond church settings, focusing on empowering parents as the primary protectors of their children.
